People aren't superhuman. They don't always say the right thing to others, and they don't always react in the most adult, healthy way to what is said to them. You're responsible for what you said to that girl. You're responsible for not taking a step back and thinking "regardless of how I personally feel about this woman, no good can come of behaving in a spiteful, vindictive way to her. My advice to you would be to do some reading on it, find a support group, find a therapist, etc. This is something that will follow you for a long time if you don't learn how to handle day to day social situations. My ex was like this and he had a lot of anxiety and it was very hard for him (and for me!) as he got older because he started counting on me for everything, starting avoiding social situations, got angry at me for all sorts of things because he was anxious.

Just some background info about me: I can understand why I haven't been in one. I really don't put much effort into it. I don't put myself out there or advertise that I'm single.
